As we welcome warmer temperatures, Pasco Sheriff’s Office expects to see more boaters hitting the water. Before you head out for a fun day in the sun, we encourage you to check out the safety tips we’ve shared this month on our news site. Anyone spending time on a boat, even experienced pros, must ensure they follow proper safety protocols.
Let’s all remember to be patient and respectful when using boat ramps and launch sites; this makes the experience smoother for everyone. We also urge all parents and guardians to teach their kids how to swim before going out on the water. Even with life jackets, being a confident swimmer helps keep everyone safe.
Keep these boating safety tips in mind throughout the season, and enjoy a safe day on the water, Pasco!
Warrant Scam
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is seeing a new twist on an old scam.
Similar to past warrant scams, criminals are claiming to be Pasco Sheriff’s Office members or representatives of other government entities, informing victims they have a warrant and need to pay a fee. The scammers request payment through gift cards, PayPal, Bitcoin, Zelle, and other similar accounts.
In this new version of the scam, impersonators are referencing an old PSO office location in Wesley Chapel to seem credible. They may also spoof a PSO phone number, such as our general information line. To be clear, PSO will never contact individuals to request any form of payment to resolve issues, whether criminal or otherwise. PSO stresses that these messages are not legitimate. Below, you will find a map of our current office locations and phone numbers.
If you believe you are the victim of a warrant scam, please report it to PSO’s Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488 or report tips online at https://www.pascosheriff.com/tips/.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office was thrilled to join the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Florida last month! Tampa Premium Outlets hosted this year’s event, bringing together athletes and local businesses from across Tampa Bay. Participants enjoyed a fun day filled with games, dancing, music, and of course, an epic run across the finish line!
Events such as these bring so many incredible people together for a wonderful cause and truly embody PSO’s motto, “We Fight As One.” A huge thank you to Tampa Premium Outlets for being such a wonderful host, and congratulations to all the Special Olympics athletes!
