With hurricane season already here, Pasco Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens to prepare well in advance of a storm to help ensure your safety. Simple steps taken early can help not only your family, but first responders in a storm. Prepare your hurricane kit now, and make sure your evacuation plan is up-to-date before a storm threatens our area. Additionally, make sure your family and loved ones know what your storm plan is and where you will go. Your Pasco Sheriff’s Office is prepared to serve before and after a storm, but these steps can help us in the event of a storm. Stay safe Pasco!

Pasco Sheriff’s Office urges citizens to prepare now before a storm threatens our area. Prepare an emergency kit and keep it stocked throughout the storm season. The kit should include bottled water and non-perishable food, so you can avoid busy stores when a storm approaches. Additionally, make sure your household has a hurricane evacuation plan and knows where to go in the event of an evacuation. Throughout hurricane season, ensure your car’s gas tank and any propane tanks remain above half full. Test generators monthly to confirm they’re working properly as well. Lastly, review insurance policies and have copies stored in an easily accessible waterproof container.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office members helped make Bring Your Child To Work Day extra special this year at the Pasco County Courthouse. The kids enjoyed viewing the patrol vehicles and meeting two K9s while learning about law enforcement. Interactions like these build trust and help establish safe habits among Pasco’s youth, which will make Pasco County a safer place for everyone.
