Safer Internet Day, held annually in February, raises awareness of online safety and dangers. Though the internet offers many benefits, it also creates opportunities for criminals to reach unsuspecting victims in new ways, using tricks which make crimes difficult to recognize. Education can help prevent internet scams and crimes. Pasco Sheriff’s Office is sharing tips to help you stay safe when connecting online. Read more here.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office’s Missing and Abducted Child (MAC) Team is a multi-disciplinary, rapid response team that coordinates investigations for critically missing or abducted children. PSO’s MAC Team trains regularly preparing for the worst case scenarios to ensure they’re ready to protect children from harm and reunite them with their loved ones. Members of the team include investigators from a variety of disciplines, K9s, search and rescue teams and more.

You can reduce the risks associated with wandering by incorporating trackable technology. SafetyNet Tracking Systems was developed to help public safety agencies bring loved ones with cognitive conditions home when they go missing. Once an individual is reported missing, SafetyNet is notified and activates their device. Upon activation, the device emits a continuous radio frequency signal for rescue teams to track. If you have a loved one who is prone to wandering, you can learn more by visiting http://safetynettracking.com or calling 727-844-7781.
