School Alert: Sunlake High School and Rushe Middle School
Update: 1/27/23 – Pasco Sheriff’s detectives continued to investigate this incident and have determined that the tip received was a hoax that was made in Walton County and directed toward Sunlake High School in Pasco County. PSO is working with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office on this investigation. To be clear, there is no threat to Sunlake High School.
Update 1/26/23 – PSO has thoroughly searched the Sunlake campus and no suspicious person was found. Sunlake High School and Rushe Middle School are returning to normal operations at this time. An increased law enforcement presence will remain at the campus for the rest of the day out of an abundance of caution.
Original Alert: Sunlake High School and Rushe Middle School in Land O’ Lakes are currently on a controlled campus status after Pasco Sheriff’s Office received a tip regarding a suspicious person on Sunlake’s campus, who possibly has a weapon. Deputies are on scene investigating and additional information will be provided when available.
