School Alert: Rushe Middle School & Sunlake High School

SCHOOL ALERT

Update: PSO has arrested a 13-year-old student in connection with this incident. The student, who admitted sending the threat on social media, was arrested for Written Threats to Kill, Disruption of a School Function and Making a False Report to Law Enforcement.

Threats have consequences, even if they’re made as a joke. PSO once again reminds parents and guardians to speak with students about the importance of not sharing rumors or threats over social media and reporting any potential threats promptly. Tips regarding threats can be made by calling PSO’s Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488, or reporting tips online at PascoSheriff.com/tips.

Original Post: Rushe Middle School is currently on controlled campus status due to a potential threat made anonymously on social media. Out of an abundance of caution, Sunlake High School is also on controlled campus due to its proximity to Rushe Middle School. The investigation is ongoing and an update will be provided when available.
