
School Alert: River Ridge Middle School and River Ridge High School
Update: Following a thorough investigation, the threat was determined to be an unfounded swatting call. Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested the 14-year-old student from River Ridge Middle School for two counts of disruption of school function, submitting a false tip to law enforcement, and destruction of evidence. River Ridge Middle School and River Ridge High School have resumed normal operations.
River Ridge Middle School and River Ridge High School are on controlled campus status out of an abundance of caution after receiving a report that there may be a weapon on campus. An increased law enforcement presence is on both campuses as a precautionary measure. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.
