PSO is Proud to Introduce ESD detection K9, Boomer

Boomer

Pasco Sheriff’s Office is proud to introduce our first electronic storage device (ESD) detection K9, Boomer! K9 Boomer was generously donated to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office by Operation Underground Railroad, a non-profit organization with a mission to protect children from sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. K9 Boomer is trained to sniff out electronic devices, such as USBs, memory cards and computer hard drives, that may be used to store or transmit child sexual abuse material. Additionally, K9 Boomer is a certified therapy dog, making him PSO’s sixth therapy K9. K9 Boomer will not only be able to assist victims on scene experiencing a stressful situation, but will also serve as a therapeutic outlet for the detectives that investigate these horrific crimes.

K9 Boomer had his first deployment last week, successfully finding several hidden electronic storage devices as part of a child pornography investigation. A subject was arrested as part of this investigation.

K9 Boomer is a 3-year-old English Lab born in Indiana. He loves walks and sleeping. He loves his work and is often awake before his human partner, ready to go to work.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office is committed to ending sex trafficking and sexual exploitation and the addition of K9 Boomer to the team will further that mission. We are grateful to Operation Underground Railroad for their partnership, and for providing us with K9 Boomer.
