K-9 Farrell and K-9 Shep Retirement

Pasco Sheriff’s Office wishes a happy and healthy retirement to two of our K-9s: K-9 Farrell and K-9 Shep!

K-9 Farrell

K-9 Farrell has served the citizens of Pasco County since February of 2017. He was certified in both patrol work and narcotics detection, and earned the “Top Dog” award at a K-9 narcotics detection seminar in 2020. K-9 Farrell is a German Shepherd who was born on Nov. 4, 2015 in Czechia. In retirement, K-9 Farrell will remain with his partner, Cpl. Garcia and his current K-9 partner, K-9 Ripp, who began working at PSO in October of 2021. The funds for K-9 Farrell were generously donated by the Farrell family.

K-9 Shep

K-9 Shep began serving Pasco County in August 2015 as a narcotics detection and patrol K-9. He was born in Hungary on Feb. 22, 2014. K-9 Shep was featured on the television series Live PD. K-9 Shep will continue to live with his partner, Cpl. Carmack, in his retirement. Stay tuned for more on Cpl. Carmack’s new partner!

PSO is thankful for K-9 Farrell and K-9 Shep’s years of dedicated service to the citizens of Pasco County. We wish these beloved K-9s well in retirement!
