Pasco Sheriff’s Office knows the power that social media has to reach a large audience and share information rapidly. For years, we’ve shared case information, including missing persons cases, on our social media platforms. This is to share this information with our community, as well as find those that are missing, in those cases.

As we’ve previously mentioned on social media, we recently updated our policies on posting missing people. We now post runaway individuals, when we previously had not. The reason for this change is that our social media audience often helps us find those that are missing and reports these tips quickly. The more people we can get to assist us in searching for these individuals can assist us in bringing these individuals home safely. To be clear, there is not an increase in runaway cases in our community.

You’ll continue to see us post runaways, as well as all missing people. Our goal remains the same: bring these individuals home, safe and sound. Social media posts help us achieve that.
